I listen to my clients and try to find appropriate solutions to their problems. I help them organize and prioritize their materials for presentation on the web, and help them understand techniques and technologies that will help them achieve their goals.  I take a unique visual approach to site design and my clients are happy (as well as relieved and excited) with the results. I give my clients a realistic expectation of costs, usually an estimate showing a range from simple to complex, and explain how they can help keep costs down. I usually agree on a specific rate per hour in advance so that clients know they are free to make revisions or change direction but that it will cost them extra. I document my hours and bill often so there are no ugly surprises, and provide estimates of time (and therefore cost) remaining to complete the work.  This helps them balance their desire to “perfect” the project with the need to stay under budget (and protects me from trying to achieve contradictory goals at my own expense).
